Week 28 - Alma 7:23

Loved ones,

I woke up this morning to rain. I love rain. Especially when it's more
like a mist! I opened the door to our deck and heard so many birds
singing songs! What a good way to start the morning and a new week! I
love Georgia!

It was a pretty good week. Cynthia came to church! It was a bit of a
fiasco to get her there... We had a meeting at 7 and it was over at
about 7:35. We had tried calling Cynthia to make sure she was up and
getting ready. She didn't answer so we rushed over to her home. She
were able to wake her up and meet her son who had arrived in town late
the night before (we were painting last week to get ready for he and
his family to move in). He had multiple friends back in Denver that he
worked with that we're Mormon. He said he never really was able to
talk to them about what they believed but admired how they lived their
lives. We taught him and were able to invite him to read and pray
about the Book of Mormon and he accepted. During that discussion we
realized Cynthia couldn't drive and her husband and son were too tired
to drive her to the church. We scrambled and called many ward members
until we found one that could pick her up. Once we arrived it was so
perfect. The speakers seemed to speak just to Cynthia. She leaned over
multiple times and said "We just talked about that" also lots of
"mhmmm's" and "amen's". After Sunday school we asked her what she
thought and she told us how they were things she already knew it just
seemed so much clearer. I love relief society. Cynthia was touched
deeply by the lesson and even commented here and there. EVERYONE
welcomed and embraced her! As we were walking out with her she said
she was so excited for next Sunday and the day left her wanting more.
The more I learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ the happier I
become. The more I share it with others the happier I become and when
they accept it it's overwhelming. Cynthia is still praying about being
baptized. We visit with her tomorrow.

Since being in Georgia I've decided I want to have chickens, a goat,
and a garden. It would be fun and it's all natural! We are going to
watch (maybe participate in) a member killing one of their chickens
today. I'll let you know if I can handle that part next week!

I love you. Thank you for your prayers and support! I know the Lord is
watching over all ya'll while I'm away!

All my heart,
❤️

Week 27 - Mosiah 24:15

Loved ones!

This week has been really great! It's flown by! I don't have a ton of
time to write today because we spent a lot of yesterday and today
helping one of the families we are teaching clean up and paint their
trailer. It's been really fun! Cynthia and her husband and her
children that are moving in with their kids all plan to come to church
this Sunday. She was one of the first people I met here with Sister
Gray so it'll be wonderful to finally have her come to church. She has
always kept her Bible out and open and just last week she was so
excited to show us that she now keeps her copy of The Book of Mormon
right next to it. I love her and it's been amazing to watch her love
for The Book of Mormon grow as well. The spirit in her home has
changed completely since her husband started getting involved in our
lessons. And even more so after we've helped them with their home. I
love when people let us serve them!

I never really said much about Sister Tuitea... She's awesome! She is
from Samoa and is the oldest of 10 kids. When she speaks she pretty
much quotes the scriptures the entire time and it amazes me! I love
having her as my companion! Let's see.. She is 23 years old. Just had
her birthday on Friday. She is an amazing singer. She played rugby
back in Samoa so you know I'm well protected here! She's great and we
compliment each other well.

We had interviews with President Bennion and Sister Bennion yesterday.
I sure love them. I've heard people say you are called to a mission
president and I feel that to be true doe me with them.

We had Stake Conference this weekend and it was AMAZING! I love just
sitting and soaking in so many different incredible testimonies and
experiences. Ah, I wish ya'll could've been there! Our Stake President
shared something Elder Holland shared with the sisters when he visited
the greater ATL area. Whatever the worry and whatever the doubt or
problem the most important thing you can do is keep your covenants. A
covenant is a two way promise. Heavenly Father has promised us so much
if we will just keep our covenants. And He keeps His promises!! Trust
Him. It will all be alright. I have hope for a glorious future with my
family and what He asks of me is quite small for all the joy He gives
me now and has promised me into the eternities! And I know that is
true for ya'll too!

I love you!

Worried about me getting married when I get home?! Don't! I've got myself a secret admirer hahaha. They happen to have access to pictures from a family vacation 7 years ago too! Gotta love the chocolate on the teeth!
The birthday sister! (She lost her name tag so we had two Sister Christensen's for a few days haha)

Week 26 - 3 Nephi 9:13 What's your verse?!

Loved ones,

This week was a little hard but at the same time so good! Most of our
investigators went MIA or just told us they didn't want to meet with
us anymore. But it's hard not to be happy when you're trying your best
to live the gospel and have faith in Heavenly Fathers plan! We're so
blessed!

We got to drive to Lilburn for transfers on Wednesday morning. Atlanta
traffic is the real deal haha. It took us an hour and a half longer to
drive there than it should've! Woo! But I was able to hug Sister
Hawkins and see all of the senior missionaries that are in the office
so I was happy as can be!We were driving to a specific area in our
ward to knock on doors and I had a thought to turn around and try a
less active back in the opposite direction. I ignored it but an
intense feeling started to come with it. So I told my companion and we
turned around. They didn't answer.. And after trying many houses on
the street with no kind responses we decided it was time to leave. I
had another idea to try a less active member we had no information on.
We went over there and no answer. I was less discouraged than I
should've been thinking back to it haha. But we started walking down
the driveway right as a car pulled up. We met the Wilson's and they
invited us right in. We had a good lesson with them. He is an RM that
hasn't been to church since 1981. You could tell he was happy to have
us there with his family and they invited us back anytime. Her heart
isn't as softened to the idea but we are hopeful that will change. I
know we needed to turn around and try that first neighborhood so we
could be at the Wilsons at the right time. All the Lord asks of us is
a willing heart and a willing mind and he will take care of everything
else.

I love being a missionary.

Thank you for the prayers and love!

All my heart,
❤️

Week 25 - Mosiah 27:26

I ❤️ Sister Hosman. She's doing wonderful things here in Georgia!
Loved ones,

First off, my verse last week was actually Revelation 3:20! The one in
Romans is great too but maybe too deep for my little brain haha.

It's transfers! Wednesday I go back to Lilburn for two seconds to drop
off Sister Gray to Sister Robinson and my new companion will be Sister
Tuitaea and we'll be here in Allatoona for another 7 week transfer.
Sister Tuitaea actually was who I replaced in Lilburn! It will be a
great experience to be together.

We went ice skating today with all the sisters in our Zone! It was so
fun!! Remember the girl that took our pictures in front of the Provo
temple before you dropped me off at the MTC? Well her name is Sister
Fuller and she was there and of course... Sister Hosman! It's Tammie's
birthday today so we had a member that was with us send her a picture
of us. Happy Birthday Tammie!!

The most amazing thing happened this week! During district meeting we
had a training on former investigators (people that stopped meeting
with us) and then we did some role plays for them. We did a role play
for a former investigator named Tyrone. He has been on date for
baptism before a few different times and has a testimony but health
concerns and a few other issues are holding him back. It was spiritual
and answered a lot of questions we had about him. The elders (Elder
Woodwell and his companions) had a cool experience where they both
thought of sharing the same scripture and it helped their testimony of
role plays. Ours too! The Elders in our ward handed us off a referral
they had received from Elders in Texas. We were excited about it and
felt we should see her after district meeting. While putting in the
address we found out it was on the same street as our former
investigator, Tyrone! If she wasn't home we knew we were meant to see
Tyrone! As we were pulling up we realized our referral lived in the
same home as Tyrone.... Wow! When we knocked on the door a woman
answered and had recognized us as being the missionaries that visit
her son and said "Tyrone isn't home, he is in the hospital.". We asked
her if her name was Helen and told her we were so sad to hear Tyrone
was in the hospital but that we were there to see her. She remembered
the two missionaries she met in Texas while on the bus back to
Georgia. We shared with her the scripture and video the elders had
shown us in the role play. She cried the entire time. She said it was
exactly what she needed and she had been praying for God to strengthen
her faith right before we knocked on the door. She couldn't help but
keep mentioning how thankful she was for those two young men in Texas
that sent us to her. She had been encouraging her son to meet with us
missionaries and now they are both excited to learn together. Every
little decision and inspiration we receive matters. I'm thankful for
missionaries all around me that follow those promptings. Heavenly
Father loves His children and His timing is perfect.

We sang "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go" as our closing song in
sacrament meeting... I love that song. I pray every day that I can "go
where He wants me to go, say what He wants me to say, and be who He
wants me to be". Some days I get mad at myself for falling short
(that's satan FYI) but most days I see how much I've been strengthened
and stretched far beyond my own strength. I love the gospel of Jesus
Christ. I know it was restored through Joseph Smith and we have a
living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. What a comfort that is. I love
ya'll!!

All my heart,
❤️

The Lee's (They were baptized at the end of September) gave me this plant right before I left Lilburn. It's called "The mother of millions". Look it up. It was just a skinny twig with two leaves when I brought it here and now look at it!!
