Wow, it's been quite the week! We've been blessed to have Elder Dube
here with us. I met him on Wednesday and he came to a multi zone
conference on Thursday! He is the most loving, fun, and spiritual man
I have ever met! He is so full of the joy of the gospel and it was
exactly what I needed. And exactly what our mission needed.
Elder Dube wanted to do as much work as he could while he was here so
we were all asked to find people for him to teach with us after our
zone conferences. What an apportunity!! We didn't have anyone that
would really be ready or willing to go have a lesson with him and it
honestly wasn't really on our minds. Tuesday we had made a goal to
invite as many people as we could to be baptized and it really changed
the way we approached every conversation and lesson. We were rejected
A LOT but we know it prepared us to meet Naya. She was outside on her
phone as we were walking by and Sister Giddins felt like we needed to
wait so we did. She walked up and intoroduced herself to us. We taught
her about the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and she was so
accepting and asked us questions to help her understand all the way
through. It was great! She couldn't get enough of what we were telling
her. Out of nowhere the thought came to me to invite to have a lesson
with us and Elder Dube. She accepted and was super excited just to
learn more. She also accepted the invitation to follow the example of
Jesus Christ and be baptized! We were in shock when we left. We called
the assistants to the mission president and set it all up! Because the
zone conference was in Roswell we stayed there to plan and had a
recently returned missionary picking up Naya for our lesson and
bringing her to us. We were so excited! Sister Barben and I did a
impromptu roll play in front of 3/5 of our mission and I was
TERRIFIED! I was shaking the entire time but I learned a lot and it
pushed me way out of my comfort zone! We tried to get into contact
with Naya all day and never heard anything back... We were getting
pretty nervous. We talked to President Bennion and he assured us if it
didn't work out it was okay. The elders in our ward had their lesson
fall through and President Bennion asked us to let them use our car to
get home. We had Joslyn (the returned missionary) coming down anyway
so we gladly agreed! We were able to go grab dinner and bring it back
to eat with President and Sister Bennion and Elder and Sister Dube.
Just the 6 of us!! It was so wonderful! We got to know more about his
life and his family and we always love spending time with President
and Sister Bennion. Naya never showed... We were pretty sad but Elder
Dube reassured us that is was GREAT and it was all part of the work.
Hope this makes sense..
We stood and sang "I'll Go Where You Want Me to Go" during sacrament
meeting yesterday. Can't help but cry every time. I love that song!
I am feeling very blessed this week. I love all y'all and I'm so
thankful for a loving and all knowing Father in Heaven. I am thankful
for a wonderful family back home.
All my love,
❤️
