Week 33 - 1 Nephi 11:17 What's your verse?

Loved ones,

What an amazing week it has been!

My new companion fresh from the MTC is Sister Beazel (pronounced like
gazelle with a B). She is 23, from California, and is number 5 of 7
kids. She is a huge blessing to me and I am learning so much from her
already!

President Bennion, our mission president, has asked that we become
more of a biking mission. I was thrilled when he asked us and even
more thrilled that Sister Beazel was excited to bike as well. It's so
beautiful outside and we're enjoying it as much as we can! The first
day we did it was harder than we thought haha. Georgia is HILLY! The
second day we had a less active member we had planned to try about 3
miles away and gave ourself time to stop and tract in other areas if
we felt inspired to as well. We made it about 2.5 miles and we got a
flat tire on one of our bikes. We felt it was best for us to walk our
bikes back and look for opportunities to serve and share the gospel
along the way. Along the way we needed to use the restroom and stopped
to see if a home/business would let us use their restroom. The woman
was so kind and happily let us in. We began to talk with her and
shared the message of the restoration and the "Hallelujah" video. She
said she felt the chills as we told her the first vision. She said as
we rang the doorbell she was watching a movie about the Savior and she
knew it was a blessing from God for us to come to her home. She's
excited to learn more with her family! Biking helped us save some
miles, relieve some stress, and find and incredible new investigator.
We will be doing much more biking from now on! Well... As soon as we
get Sister Beazel's bike tire fixed haha.

We had dinner at our Bishop's home and he pulled out his yearbook and
we looked at all four years of mom and dads high school year book
pictures. It is such a small world. I look so much like mom. Lucky
me!!

As we have focused so much on the Atonement and the Savior this week I
have been really humbled at the amount of love Heavenly Father and
Jesus Christ have for us. There was a speaker in sacrament meeting
yesterday that talked about how the Savior had his disciples feel the
prints in his hands and feet and the wounds in his side (John
20:26-31) and also the Nephites (3 Nephi 11) and mentions it in modern
day as well (D&C 6:37 the whole section is great though!). Why? He
said he felt like it was to help us all realize how real He is and how
real His Atonement it. There are many other reasons that I'm sure go
way over my head but I like that one. I know He lives. I know He loves
us and I know that all that unfair about life can be made right
through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. He knows us. I'm reminded of
something Elder Holland said to the women in the Atlanta area when he
was here. They had everyone send in questions for him to answer and
help with. He told us the Savior knows what we're going through. Then
he asked.. How does He know what it's like to have a child addicted to
drugs? I don't know but He does! How does He know what it's like to
have an abusive husband? I don't know but He does!... I know that
whatever the trial and whatever the heartache our Savior knows us and
loves us and will rush to our rescue if we will only turn to him.

What a joy it is to have the knowledge of the Restored gospel of Jesus
Christ. I'm so blessed to have the opportunity to share the good news
with everyone. Thank you for the love and prayers. I hope all ya'll
are as excited for General Conference as I am. I definitely cried my
eyes out the General Women's meeting.

LOVE ❤️

Week 32 - Alma 17:11 What's your verse?!

Loved ones,

This week is transfer week and I am staying in Allatoona and training
a brand new missionary! I am really excited and a little nervous all
at the same time. It's actually really cool to have been studying
about the new life Jesus Christ offers us and to look forward to new
life begin for a Sister as a missionary. Missions are miracles!

Saturday we had planned to visit a few streets we had never been to
before to find new investigators! We started off at the first address
and they cut us off before we could even get a word in. The next house
seemed really promising as a young man really enjoyed the video and
message we shared. He went to ask his mom if they could all learn
together and she said no. Before leaving we asked them who they knew
that would benefit from our message. They gave us a few houses to try
at the end of the street over. As we were walking in that direction we
saw a man working in his yard. We said hello and asked him if we could
help. He said yes! As we started to put down our things and walk up to
help he laughed and told us he thought we were kidding! He asked who
we were and what we were doing. We told him we we're missionaries
sharing an Easter message! We watched the "Hallelujah" video with him
and he loved it! We paused hoping the spirit would kick in and give us
the words to say. We asked him "How have you found new life through
Jesus Christ?". He paused for a minute and said "Honestly, I haven't
yet but I'm working on it." We were able to explain and bear testimony
of The Book of Mormon and the restored gospel. He invited us back to
come and teach his entire family!!

I highly recommend watching the new Easter video's! What a beautiful
time of year it is to reflect on the life death and glorious
resurrection of our Savior and what it means for us and our families.

God lives! And he loves every single one of us!
I love all ya'll!

Week 31 - 1 Nephi 3:7 What's your verse?!

With Sister Hosman at Zone Training
Loved ones,

Everything is blooming here and I'm in heaven! I'll try to take good
pictures of the blooms this week and send them next week.

I experienced my first ever flat tire while I've been driving! It was
quite exciting. We had a full day of appointments planned Saturday and
right as we were leaving our apartment is when it popped. We pulled
over and a kind man named Doug stopped and helped us put on the spare
tire. We had to call our first appointment and reschedule, bummer. And
as we were calling them our next appointment called to reschedule
because they were sick. As we were driving to pep boys to get a new
tire we saw an apartment complex that has been on my mind for some
time but isn't really by anything so we never end up going there. I
knew we needed to stop by on our way back. We got the tire and headed
back toward our area. At that apartment complex we met a man that
wants the Spanish elders to teach him and a man that is new to the
area and has been looking for a church to attend. We were able to meet
many people that day that have been prepared by the Lord to hear the
message of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If we had
not have had a flat tire and needed to reschedule and rearrange our
entire day we might not have seen all the miracles the Lord had in
store for us. What seemed like an inconvenient set back ended up being
a huge blessing to us. As we trust the Lord in all things He truly
does fulfill His purposes!

One of my sister training leaders here is Sister Barben. We are so
similar it's crazy! She grew up with goats and chickens. She is a
runner and is planning to run a Ragnar this summer. She loves to cook
and she also wants to learn to sew so she can make her own clothing
line someday. She loves essential oils.. The list goes on and on. She
spent a day with Sister Gray before we really knew each other and
decided I needed to marry her brother haha. It's been great getting to
know her over the past few months. She is an amazing leader and
example to me!

Next week are transfers!

Thank you for the prayers and know that I'm praying for you! I love all ya'll!

Week 30 - Mosiah 23: 21-22 What's your verse?!

Loved ones,

Sisters Conference this week was so amazing! I was able to see Sister
Giddins and Sister Jenkins that I roomed with in the MTC. We talked a
lot about recognizing who we are as daughters of Heavenly Father and
remembering that in the hard times. President and Sister Bennion gave
each sister a rose at the end of the day and that just topped it off
as one of the greatest days for me!

Elder Woodwell (from the ward back home) gave a training in District
Meeting this week. He did an amazing job! He and his companion he is
training have been setting all kinds of records. Make sure to tell his
parents.

Prayer works. I never would have dreamed I'd have the love for the
scriptures like I do now. I love them. I never want to put them down!

Crazy story... We had a less active member contact us saying she
wanted to go to church. She said gets panic and anxiety attacks so
someone would need to be with her at all times and she needed a ride.
The ward got her a ride and she kind of attached herself to me at
church. Last week was great! She loved being back! This week she came
to sit by me again. Just after the water was passed in sacrament
meeting she leaned over and said "We've got to go into another room
now!". Sister Tuitea was sitting a few rows ahead with a different
family we are teaching. I tapped a lady in the ward to come with us
that was aware of her circumstances to come out with us. Before we
could get into an empty classroom she collapsed on the ground in the
hallway. She was hyperventilating and shaking while I held both her
hands and tried to calm her down. Luckily our ward mission leader is a
doctor and he came out too. An ambulance came and picked her up and
took her to the hospital. We went to check on her at her home when she
was released from the hospital a few hours later. She was doing much
better! She was so thankful for us and so was her family! Her husband
who had some negative experiences with the church in the past now
wants to know more and is reading the Book of Mormon and planning to
come to church. Their niece is also planning on attending with us as
well and we hope to begin teaching her soon too. The Lord works in
mysterious ways!

I love all ya'll so much! Thank you for your prayers.

Week 29 - Mormon 9:28

Loved ones,

The SUN! We've had sunshine this past week and I LOVE it! More birds
and more blossoms. I'm a happy sister missionary!

I survived watching Sister Tuitea kill the chicken last week! I held
the feet while her and Brother George plucked it and watched while she
took care of everything else. I think I might be able to do it one
day!! I'll send the more intense pictures to my dad if anyone is more
interested in seeing them haha.

This week was probably the hardest yet. Lots of not so nice people
that didn't want to leave us alone. But we've sure learned a lot! I've
also been very humbled by the amount of love I've felt from my
Heavenly Father and the love I've felt for these not so nice people.
We were at the end of a tough day. Once it's dark everyone thinks
you're crazy for being out and about. They open the door in their PJ's
at like 6:30 wondering why we're out so late. But we knew we needed to
be out finding those people that have been prepared by the Lord. We we
driving away from a less active member that was not interested in
seeing us and feeling quite defeated. I prayed so hard for Heavenly
Father's help to keep going that night. I felt the need to pull over
after seeing a certain home. We knocked on the door three times with
no answer. As we were walking back out the driveway we saw a young
girl walk out the door and toward us! Jordan was so happy to meet us
and to hear she had a loving Heavenly Father that cared for her. She
has had huge struggles with self worth and was so thankful we stopped
by her home that night. She accepted the invites to read the Book of
Mormon and meet with us again. As we were walking away I felt such an
overwhelming sense of peace that brought me to tears. It's humbling to
be able to witness how much our Heavenly Father loves his children and
how He will guide us to them. Being a missionary is the best. I'm sure
blessed to be here in Georgia and to have the love and support of so
many people.

We went bowling today with all the sisters in our Zone. I love seeing
Sister Hosman! We took a recent convert with us because she lives just
down the street from the bowling alley and we could push her down
there. We ended up going to the bowling alley up the street and across
6 lanes of traffic haha. I ran almost the entire way pushing her!
Needless to say I got my workout for the day. I will send pictures
from bowling next week.

We have a conference this week for all the sisters on our mission and
we're so excited!!

I love you, I pray for you, and I know this is the work of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ!
